Fort Saunders

She's six. She needed a fort. A fort that sleeps 11 stuffed animals, 2 pillows, 1 pillow pet, 7 blankets, and one giggly little girl. She slept in the next morning. Might have to do this again.

Animals

We hit the Bean Museum this weekend on BYU's campus. Reggie couldn't believe all those animals would hold so still for so long just so he can get a peek at them. Addie can't believe she used to believe that too. Here are their favs.

Cleanliness ...

... is next to godliness.

Choo-Choo

I decided it was time for the kids to learn about their Pa Idaho. So I took them to the Train Show that came through town. We walked by all the exhibits and train displays. We watched the trains run and marveled at all the tiny model towns and delicate landscaping. I bought them each a conductor's hat and a tiny train.... Then I told them Pa Idaho had an almost 400 square foot model train set-up that he destroyed and has yet to rebuild. They are pretty disappointed Pa.

Davey Poppins

Who said I can't clean and organize? That's right. Nobody.

IPhone

Addie has taught me many uses for my new phone. One of the games we have let's us run a virtual zoo. That includes going on safari to find new animals, breeding them, washing them, feeding them, and naming them. Then she discovered we can take our pictures with them too. One day I may even use the phone to make some calls.

Learning

His second word was, "Football".
His first was, "Wow Dad. I am pretty darn good looking".

Two Things

My kids can ride in a car all day long. Except for two things.
Addie gets carsick. Through many processes of trial and error (gross, disgusting, vomit-laced errors) I have found that the best remedy includes no winding roads, tinted windows, a blanket, a pillow, shoes off, a cool temperature (65 seems to work), water to drink, and a movie. That keeps the sun off of her, her body cool, maintains hydration, and distracts her from the moving vehicle. And when that happens, Addie can ride in a car all day.
Reggie thinks everything works like a yo-yo. I give him a blanket, a drink, a pacifier, a toy and the same movie as Addie. Within minutes however, he is cold, thirsty, bored and noisy. His blanket is between him and Addie. His pacifier has rolled under my seat, his drink is wedged up against his seat and the door, he is probably now sitting on his toy, and all of these things together have pulled his attention from the movie and put him into a state of distraught. Until I Plastic-Man myself, gather up all his belongings and get them back to him just so he can do it again. Then Reggie can ride in a car all day.
And its good that they can ride in a car all day. Because that's about how long it takes us to make it here.
And its worth it.
